Top 10 Necessities for New Teachers (that your school probably won't buy you!) and a free teacher startup checklist!

We all know that being comfortable in your daily space is important. Having items that make you happy and are exactly what you want can help make your year go smoothly. It is also a real pain when you figure out you need something and have to beg, borrow and steal to get your lessons ready for the next day! I've been there 1000 times and now I am the teacher everyone comes to when they need something. (I guess it helps that I am a hoarder, but don't follow my lead on that end!)      I have come up with my list of necessities that I find make my days in my classroom a whole lot smoother and I do not spend time going to the store after school or groveling at my coworkers feet! I normally make one or two large Amazon orders per year to stock up on the consumables. I try to also buy everything on prime so that my shipping is free! I also keep and eye on Amazons lightning deals in case any of my necessities come up on an extra great sale price. The following list is in no...

Target and Michaels: cheap classroom supplies this week! Save on your classroom purchases!

So I will start with the motherload of books I found in the dollar spot at Target! There were 8 different level 1 and 2 readers and 4 class readers. The books are fun science an social studies books as long as just for fun level 1 readers. Now you know why I am so excited to get these for $1, because they are normally $4-5 at any other store! You can also see that I stocked up on sticky dots (150 per pack) and french fry holders (not sure what I am doing with these yet but I am sure they will come in handy for a center or game). The dollar spot also had spring themed BBQ stuff and gardening supplies. If you haven't been this week I would suggest a trip! And now for my Michaels score: I went in looking for a scrapbooking punch and came across this great set of perfectly sized alphabet stamps, can you guess how cheap they were? $4.99, yes that is right $4.99 for an entire set! I bought 2 plus got my 15% off for being a teacher what a steal! So of course I loath the Michaels waiting l...

Sparkle buddies: weekly table rewards

Hello all, I found these great shiny pompoms at target in a bag for $1.00, I am storing them in a Dollar Store container. I will have a small bucket on each table and use them as an incentive. each time the whole table is working quietly I will place one "Sparkle Buddy" in the bucket. At the end of the week we will count our "sparkle buddies" (see how I am sneaking in some number work there)and whichever table has the most gets a prize (stickers or such). At the end of the year we will make some cute crafts with them and the kiddos will get to take them home! Have other great ideas for using these pompoms? Leave a comment and the best idea in the next 24 hours will recieve my newest Gumball Counting Read the Room and Center Activity: Click the link below the picture to see the entire packet on TpT! The first comment will also receive this new packet! Enjoy! Christine
