October is here! Milestone announcement, Pumpkins, Community Helpers and a FREEBIE!

WOW! This was about the fastest September in my immediate history! I can't believe that switching from Pre-K to Kinder has left me with no classroom reveal or new ideas for my blog! Thank you everyone for being so supportive and patient. I promise to catch up as much as possible over the next couple of weeks. So, my classroom, where do I begin? Number Sense: Teaching addition and subtraction to Pre-K children and a FREEBIE!!!!!

With all of this in place teaching the basic addition and subtraction strategies should be easy! (Well, we will see!) So, we started this week with 10 frames, you can easily make your own or print out free sets through a google search. Each child then has 10 objects to use to count. I start with addition problems to 5. I instruct the children to "place 1 c...

Below are pictures of the work we have done with my Build a Snowman CVC Unit , Winter print and go Unit and my Winter Animals Unit . I am especially proud of how much their handwriting has improved and the ability to work independently is finally kicking in. My new Word of the Day calendar and journal is a huge hit in my classroom. The kiddos are so excited each morning to learn our word of the day and how to use it in a sentence. I hope you will take a minute to check these units out in my store, I know you will enjoy everything they have to offer.
