Nautical ocean navy blue and green classroom decor

I finally decided on my theme for next year! I am going to use nautical and ocean themed decor to decorate my new classroom. Yes, I am moving again this year so new room, new theme! I do not have access to my room over the summer so I took these pictures over my kitchen table which is approximately the same size as my large board. The first picture shows how I plan to use one of my boards as my calendar/ math focus wall.  I will be placing magnets onto the letter pieces and have them next to the calendar on my whiteboard. I have not decided where I will use and place all of the other pieces except the word wall which will be on a board on the adjacent wall and my number line above the calendar/ white board. There are quite a few pictures of the pieces included in the file and there are also editable pieces so you can customize your classroom.  If you would like to see the Christian file or the secular file scroll through the pictures and click on the link at the bottom. I will post a classroom reveal as soon as I can get into my new room and place everything where I want it. I also bought navy/ green bins from thirty one which I am embroidering and using throughout my classroom this year!

Here are a few of the items I bought from thirty-one for my classroom. I am going to hang the large organizer behind my desk with three of the "homework" pouches on each side. I will also link 3 snap bins along my boards chalk ledge to hode supplies. I think my favorite though are the utility totes at the bottom which I will be using to store community supplies at each table. I can't wait to get into my room!
Enjoy!

Sight word freebie, ideas and more Dyslexia Worksheets!

Hello All, Today we had so much fun with our sight word from my freebie Snowflake Slap . First I laid out all of the snowflakes on the carpet. If the child could read me the word they could keep the card and crumple it into a snowball. Once all of the words were read and squished I told the class we could have a snowball fight! It was such great fun that we took our "snowballs" into another kinder classroom and attacked them. As the kids threw the sight word snowballs we made more snowballs and threw them into the crowd from leftover paper. It was great fun! Once we settled back into our classroom we placed all of the snowballs into a bucket and each child pulled a word. If they could read it they recorded it on the left side of the worksheet below, if they couldn't read the word they recorded it on the right. The ones most did not know were pretty consistent so I know which ones we need the most work on. So hop on over the TpT to grab your free copy of Snowflake Slap an...

Differentiated Read the Room: Ideas for learning and a freebie!

Read the room is an excellent center activity! I use read the room almost daily in my classroom for literacy, vocabulary, letter recognition, spelling patterns and much more! I have created a bundle of read the room activities that are differentiated in order to meet the needs of all of your students no matter what level they are on. I am a firm believer in making my classroom an environment where all children are successful and feel confident in their learning. Differentiation is just one way to help those children who may be behind or even ahead to grow and flourish in the classroom. The goal is the same: learning, irregardless of where we start we want children to learn at a pace that does not frustrate and overwhelm.      My Differentiated Read the Room Files contain 3 sets of picture cards. One set has the entire word printed with the picture, the 2nd set only has the target vowel written under the picture and the 3rd set only ...

The Story of Creation Flip Book Freebie!

As many of you already know I am a Christian school teacher in a small private school. I have decided to start making my Bible craftivities into files for others to access for their own Christian classrooms or homeschools. I have just finished putting together my first file for a Creation Flip Book and it is listed for free on TpT. The file includes full picture instructions as well as an option for color or black and white. Throughout this year I plan to list each Bible story craftrivity I do in my classroom and then bundle them at the end of the year. I am also working on a God's Journal, similar to the poetry and math journals you see so often in classrooms theses days but this one will celebrate our faith. I would appreciate your feedback after downloading the file and sharing this with other believers. Please take a minute to follow me here on my blog and hop on over to TpT to get your free flip book file. While you are there please check out my other items and follow my store...
