End of the year scavenger hunt is a hit!

I designed a scavenger hunt for my third grader that gave his class a chance to learn a few things about 4th grade and a fun end of the year activity. His class went around in groups today and had such a blast. Finding each place, stamping their passport, writing down an objective for the next grade and then coming back to draw a map and write a paragraph about what they want to learn nest year. Tomorrow they will finish with one more clue which leads them to their new teachers classrooms and has a treasure box filled with a candy treat for them. I was so excited that it went so well! I have created a passport/scavenger hunt for children moving to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. The objectives are all taken from the Texas TEaks and are common core aligned. Below are links to each different passport, there is also a blank passport if you would like to use your own clues and objectives. Sight word freebie, ideas and more Dyslexia Worksheets!

Hello All, Today we had so much fun with our sight word from my freebie Snowflake Slap . First I laid out all of the snowflakes on the carpet. If the child could read me the word they could keep the card and crumple it into a snowball. Once all of the words were read and squished I told the class we could have a snowball fight! It was such great fun that we took our "snowballs" into another kinder classroom and attacked them. As the kids threw the sight word snowballs we made more snowballs and threw them into the crowd from leftover paper. It was great fun! Once we settled back into our classroom we placed all of the snowballs into a bucket and each child pulled a word. If they could read it they recorded it on the left side of the worksheet below, if they couldn't read the word they recorded it on the right. Differentiated Read the Room: Ideas for learning and a freebie!

         Read the room is an excellent center activity! I use read the room almost daily in my classroom for literacy, vocabulary, letter recognition, spelling patterns and much more! I have created a bundle of read the room activities that are differentiated in order to meet the needs of all of your students no matter what level they are on. I am a firm believer in making my classroom an environment where all children are successful and feel confident in their learning. The Story of Creation Flip Book Freebie!

As many of you already know I am a Christian school teacher in a small private school. I have decided to start making my Bible craftivities into files for others to access for their own Christian classrooms or homeschools. I have just finished putting together my first file for a Creation Flip Book and it is listed for free on TpT. The file includes full picture instructions as well as an option for color or black and white. Throughout this year I plan to list each Bible story craftrivity I do in my classroom and then bundle them at the end of the year. I am also working on a God's Journal, similar to the poetry and math journals you see so often in classrooms theses days but this one will celebrate our faith.
